Capabilities

 

The AFS facility is 243,000 square feet with 215,000 square feet of manufacturing space and a 28,000 square foot office area.  The building is on 25 acres and pre-approved for expansion.  The building is served by three power lines with a capacity of 5 megawatts. It is completely wired to all areas with 14 KV distribution lines going to five internal substations in the facility.  In addition, there is a 10 megawatt generator driven to speed by an electric motor and equipped with a 15-ton flywheel that extends operations to experiments that would normally be too disruptive for the utility service of the facility to accept.
